HELLO YOUNG JEWELLERY DESIGNERS & a glittering welcome to the Artifex Young Jewellery Designer Awards blog!
WE ARE Ross Fenn & Nigel Bates, art lovers & directors
of Artifex Gallery in Sutton Coldfield - the Midlands' leading gallery for
contemporary British Arts & Crafts. We
are passionate about British, handmade jewellery and have been supporting
British designers for over 20 years. This year, in a bid to keep the industry
exciting and to help young jewellery designers gain exposure, we want to
take our support for the British jewellery industry further with the Artifex
Young Jewellery Designer Awards 2013.
The Artifex Young Jewellery Designer Awards 2013 will culminate
in a sparkling awards ceremony held at Arifex Gallery on THURSDAY 24th
OCTOBER 2013. It is open to young jewellery designers from or studying in the
Midlands and aged 18 - 25, to bring your vision of a winning
jewellery piece to life as well as to SHOWCASE YOUR TALENT.
TO ENTER you must design and produce a unique piece/pieces
of jewellery which you will enter into a selection of categories. A panel of
judges made up of Artifex directors (that's us!), a member of the press, a jeweller and a
jewellery trader, will select a winner from each category as well as an overall
winner who will be awarded £250 + a one month display in the
gallery following the awards ceremony, where customers will be able to BUY YOUR WINNING
JEWELLERY!
Runners up will each receive £100. ALL entrants
will receive a prestigious certificate and all submitted jewellery will be
exhibited at the Artifex Gallery throughout the competition & showcased at
the awards ceremony to a glittering audience of local press and media,
jewellery traders, jewellers, jewellery enthusiasts and more!
